Southeast Asia’s Solar Surge Is Powering Clean Energy Growth

Date:2026-01-09

Southeast Asia’s solar energy market is undergoing a remarkable transformation, driven by falling technology costs, stronger climate commitments and the growing need for energy security. Recent forecasts show the region’s solar capacity is expected to jump from around 38.29 GW in 2025 to over 92.77 GW by 2030, representing an annual growth rate of nearly 19.4%. This reflects a clear shift away from fossil fuels toward clean, renewable energy solutions across the region.

Countries like Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia are introducing supportive policies, incentives and market frameworks to accelerate solar adoption — whether through rooftop PV, utility-scale plants or hybrid solar + storage systems — and to meet growing electricity demand sustainably.

This rapid expansion is opening new opportunities for developers, EPCs, technology providers and investors to engage in the Southeast Asian market — from distributed solar and grid integration to energy storage and smart energy solutions. With solar costs continuing to decline and renewable targets becoming more ambitious, the region is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic clean energy growth corridors in the world.

Against this backdrop, we are excited to be organizing the ASEAN Solar PV & Energy Storage Expo 2026 — the only dedicated energy storage & solar PV platform in Southeast Asia. The event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, project developers and technology innovators to share insights, explore partnerships and support market growth.

Date: March 25–27, 2026
Location: IMPACT Exhibition Center, Bangkok, Thailand
